APW - Waltham, "Waltham Standard" marked mvt with locomotive image below signature, 19J marked as "19 Ruby Jewels," Model 1892, 18S, gold-filled OF original case with attractive engine turning and engraving detail to rear, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, swirl pattern nickel damascene, gilt mvt screws and regulator assembly, s#10099597. An excellent example of this rare and attractive watch; we believe this Model 1892 "Waltham Standard" to be the only Waltham product to feature a locomotive image on its movement, and we believe its total production is likely only 125 made with all examples found in a single production run spanning serial numbers 10099501 to 10099625.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scratch between main plate case screw and front portion of locomotive engraving, some typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere; virtually flawless dial with minuscule speck at upper-left edge of center section, few minimal fine to micro-fine scratches; excellent hands, minute with some finish loss to its spade, point of oxide to its shaft, some oxide to its tip; case shows little wear, mild soft ding to rear above-right of center, good engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; glass crystal with small edge chip at upper-right, glue excess at its seat.
